Two-Minute Tours

Construction of the Downtown Crossing – the new I-65 bridge – began in the summer of 2013. It opened to traffic in December of 2015, carrying both northbound and southbound traffic while the deck of the Kennedy Bridge was refurbished. By the end of 2016 the new bridge was carrying six lanes of northbound traffic, with the Kennedy Bridge carrying six lanes of southbound traffic.
